Don’t Take my Word
Don't take my word for this, don't take anyone's word. Examine it for yourself, it’s your life. Your life truly is like an apple tree. You are born and in most cases like a fallen apple you stay where you land for the rest of your life. And yet your not a tree, you can move. You are a prisoner made entirely by yourself. Well not quite entirely. What I’m saying is this, during your lifetime you will follow the line of least resistance. Your parents, carers, elders footsteps and as a result in most cases you will develop their choice making skills, mannerism, beliefs, who to vote for etc. You will then join their society and find that you will have the same political leanings and religious beliefs as they have. That’s it, it doesn’t get any more complicated than that for you. For the rest of your life you will just punch the family time card till your buried six feet under. Unless your family in this case off course opts for cremation. Nay you say, because you’ve always done the opposite to what your elders have expected of you. No , your nothing like them at all. No perhaps your not! What you are instead is their contrariness you just do the exact opposite of everything they do to prove your individuality. It’s just the same button just being pressed the opposite way. You think you have freedom but it;s false. Then of course there are the sublimators. Their neither leaning towards the left or the right of familial or cultural opinion's and
from all observation seem to be on even keel. They just do what the left wants or do what the right does to keep the peace. And at night when they are tucked away in bed they dream, dreams of heroism.
Ever asked yourself why historically we are always at war? Why there' s a Greek war, Roman War, English War, The Great War, The First world war, The Second World war, Korean War, Vietnam War, and off course all the other mini-wars. Ask anyone in a crowded room who wants to go to war and you'd be surprise. No one does, and yet we have never stopped having wars nor commemorating them. People will kill for faiths, country, sports team and even parking spots. So why do we do it ?
In almost all cases we do it to protect the Apple tree we fall from and its beliefs. It doesn’t seem to add up does it. Can it change ? Yes. Will it change No!. Why ? We will always protect our faith and beliefs at all cost. Are our faiths and beliefs important? Hell no, only to us because they change from moment to moment anyway and we don’t seem to notice. And it's not even you who changes them its someone else who tells you it's okay to change them now. Pathetic aren't we.
So here’s what you can do to begin with. Think about this, think about yourself, and think about how free you really are to make decisions. I'm not the first one to say this but know yourself to begin with. Discover that you are more than what you believe yourself to be. Hold no faith in any particular dogma because it's not static its dynamic. Life changes , we change, its all a process. We have to remain open to all possibilities. If you follow Catholocism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Ba'hai all good stuff, but that's it. There is no room for expansion in any faith. When you are tied to a particular dogma you are in a state ot tension. Shakyamuni was a great Hindu who became enlightened and founded his own system. Now we have a name for his process and then that process got broken into many disputing camps and so on. Each believing they are carrying the true faith. So in between enlightenment there is discord, lack of clarity, one upmanship. Investigate this and you will find that a lot practice their personal beliefs because its not far from their Apple tree. Then they will either switch to left or right side to dodge their own lack of personal ambition. The sublimators or as they are fondly called fundamentalist are never at equanimity with things and sorely miss the inquistions . Anyhow don't stay asleep for too long. Don't stay on the platform for too long.
